Accounts Assistant
Working within our Finance team, you will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure the smooth running of the client and company money-to-bank reconciliations and help develop and improve systems.
You will use a variety of banking systems from many different countries, internal databases and Microsoft Excel as part of your daily routine. You will be required to liaise with banks and internal staff to resolve queries and to make system improvements. This role offers opportunities to develop in other areas of our Finance department.
Job responsibilities
- Recording bank transactions and performing cashbook reconciliations
- Reconciling the IG trading system to bank statements
- Reconciling client card payments to bank statements
- Checking and processing broker margin payments
- Managing company currency bank balances and calculating IG's currency exposure
- Dealing with internal queries about client money and banking issues
- Performing bank administrative duties such as mandate updates
- Assisting the purchase ledger team on an ad hoc basis by processing incoming supplier invoices
You will have previously worked in an office environment and ideally have experience of working within an Accounts department. You will be numerate (with at least mathematics at GSCE level), be able to draw relevant facts and figures from written reports, be proficient in Microsoft Excel and will have excellent administration and communication skills. You need to work well as part of a team, be very well-organised and able to demonstrate your attention to detail.
