C++ Developer – Finance Pricing
We are seeking a Senior C++ Developer to join the Finance Pricing team, to design, develop, and support a high throughput, low latency real-time distributed price calculation system.
The Finance Pricing team is responsible for the real-time pricing of all the financial instruments offered by IG – covering stocks, indices, FX, commodities, binaries and options. Processing hundreds of thousands of incoming price ticks per second, the distributed architecture is engineered to deliver low latency price calculations across all of our markets. There are significant technical challenges in delivering a robust and resilient system while also supporting diverse business requirements.
As part of the Finance Pricing team, you will be responsible for developing software to enhance and maintain the pricing system.
Job responsibilities
- Specification, design, implementation and delivery of pricing functionality according to business requirements
- Interact with other areas of the business to achieve project objectives and to ensure that all completed tasks are effectively implemented
- Provide out-of-hours support on a rota basis
Essential criteria
- Real-time multi-threaded software development experience
- Experience of the full software development lifecycle
- Experience and proficiency in design at system and component levels
- Minimum of 5 years C++ (including STL, OOD/OOP) on UNIX/Linux and/or Windows
- Strong analytical abilities and experiences in algorithm design, software design and implementation
Desirable criteria
- Previously worked in a financial services environment
- Practical experience of UNIX shell, Perl, Python or other scripting language
- Knowledge of CORBA technology
- Knowledge of InVision, Reuters RFA and RMDS technologies and associated products
- Architecture design skills
