Java EE/Application Server – Developer
IG’s Web Trading team are responsible for the development and maintenance of IG’s mission critical middleware infrastructure and web-based trading applications.
We are looking for a passionate, team-orientated Java middleware developer who can demonstrate a flair for delivering scalable and resilient solutions in a dynamic, agile environment.
Job responsibilities
- Delivering high quality solutions that match the business requirements
- Taking ownership of work and being responsible for its delivery
- Working closely with other team members to ensure the team delivers as a whole
- Actively participate in the team's agile process and contribute to improving the process
Essential criteria
- Java EE and related technologies: Spring Framework, JMS etc
- Application server experience eg Tomcat, Weblogic etc
- Enthusiastic team player who will be willing and able to help colleagues at peak times
- Very articulate/excellent communication skills
- Deadline/delivery conscious and flexible to changing priorities
Desirable criteria
- Has a good understanding of testing frameworks and techniques
- Is familiar with caching technologies eg Terracotta, EHCache etc
- Has a good understanding of OO principles and application of design patterns
- Has experience of developing RESTful web services
